In this body of abstract works, Pennington intuitively explores the relationship between the senses – the connection sound and colour play in informing emotion and memories.

”When I close my eyes, I hear you, I feel your energy, I remember. I feel sounds and energy, my mind manifests these emotions and experiences as morphing abstract colour formations – shapes, abstract forms. This latest body of work explores how I experience and interpret the relationship between these different senses.

”Since a child I have experimented with interpreting sound and music, translating these into a visual language, abstract forms, colours and marks. Is as though sounds and music speak to the soul and the mind becomes the bridge for the body translating these into a physical manifestation. This interpretive blind mark-marking is then digitally juxtaposed with abstract colour works, visual representations of emotional experiences and states.” Niki explains.
